How to Connect a Portable Monitor to a Laptop, Phone or Console

A portable monitor can connect to many laptops, phones, tablets and consoles, but the correct cable and power setup depend on the source device.

Connect a laptop with USB-C

1. Confirm the laptop USB-C port supports DisplayPort Alt Mode, Thunderbolt or USB4 video.
2. Use a full-featured USB-C cable between the laptop and monitor.
3. Select the USB-C input on the monitor if it does not switch automatically.
4. Add external power if the laptop cannot provide enough power.

Connect a laptop with HDMI

1. Connect the laptop HDMI output to the monitor Mini HDMI input.
2. Connect USB-C power to the monitor.
3. Select the HDMI input from the monitor menu.

Connect a compatible phone or tablet

Confirm that the device supports wired video output. Connect it through USB-C and add monitor power if required. Charging support does not guarantee video support.

Connect a game console

Use the console HDMI output with the appropriate HDMI-to-Mini-HDMI cable. Power the monitor separately through USB-C. Check the console display settings if the image does not appear.

If the monitor shows no signal

• Check the selected input source
• Confirm the cable supports the required signal
• Reconnect all cables
• Provide separate monitor power
• Restart the source device with the monitor connected
